Have you ever stared at a stamp set blankly waiting for an idea to jump into your head but there’s nothing, not a hint of an idea? We all have it at times, doubting our selves, doubting our creativity. What’s the answer?
Here are 5 ideas that have worked for me. Just one of these ideas may work for you or maybe a combinations of two or more.
Internet Community
Pinterest, Instagram, Splitcoast Stampers, Twitter, Stampin’ Connection, YouTube, crafter’s Blogs to name a few!. There are many great forums on line, use the name of the stamp set as a search word . Join one and share your ideas too!. At times I realize I spend more time looking for inspiration then actually creating!
Card Sketch
There has been many books published with amazing layout ideas for cards of all sizes, shapes and fun folds. It can be hard to select one, close your eyes and just open a page. If you land on a sketch you are hesitant to try, then challenge yourself and give it a go.

Printed Paper
I love that Stampin’ Up! have great Designer Series Paper that coordinates with stamps, thinlits, embossing folders, ribbons etc. A single stamp image can be used to high light a colour, design theme or shape.
Colour
We all have our favourite Colour! Our go-to colour! The cover is probably stained with finger prints and smudges looking well loved. Again, challenge yourself! Select a colour that you may not ordinarily choose.
Technique
Some stamp sets are better used for some techniques than others. A sponged back ground look great with block or silhouette stamps, a detailed stamp should be the star of the show by making it the main feature or the font of a sentiment stamp can also dictate the style of the card such as classic, fun, vintage etc.
