Along with a beautiful handmade card, adorning your gift with pretty paper, ribbon and a tag can be self satisfying. It can be as grand or demure as the occasion requires and individually can take as much time and thought as buying the right gift.
This is all fine for those special occasions such as your nephew’s 21st or your sister’s 50th birthday but what about Christmas time? Is your brother or infant niece going to really appreciate your efforts? If you are like me and want to forgo the generic wrapping not to just save a buck but again that self satisfaction of knowing ‘I made that!”.
All that said I also don’t want to spend hours on end to making tags so I came up with a way to bulk make tags that are gorgeous and easy using minimal amount of tools as possible. A full list of products with links to my Stampin’ Up! Online Store is at the bottom of this post.
Start with inking up your stamped image with Versamark and randomly stamp over your piece of A4 Card Stock. I’m using Cherry Cobbler and Reason For The Season stamp set.
Cut the Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper into 2 strips measuring 29.7 x 3cm using your Stampin’ Trimmer. Adhere to the long sides of the cardstock leaving a narrow border along the edge.
With short ends top and bottom cut paper in half (10.5cm).
Turning cardstock 90 degrees cut into 5.1cm strips.
You’ll get 10 tags in total.
Using the Tag Topper Scallop Punch slide in each piece to create the tag and the hole that Gold Cord Trim will be threaded through.
Ink up the sentiment from Reason For The Season stamp set using the Jet Black StazOn and stamp on the front of the Gift Tag. Flip Gift Tag over and stamp the TO: FROM: of the Wondrous Wreath stamp set.
Add the Gold Cord Trim and the Rhinestone Basic Jewel and your tag is complete. I have attached one here to a Square Pillow Box.
I cut out twice the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die to make two sides.
Then adhere the two pieces together.
Fold over and adhere the second side flap and push in the top flaps to close pillow box.
I cut a decorative belly band to wrap around and adhered to the pillow box.
I then threaded the Gold Cord Trim through the Gift Tag then wrapped around the pillow box and tied into a pretty bow. Gift Tag can be adhered down in top corner to keep in place.
Tip: If you cut a whole piece of DSP into 3cm strips there will be a total of 10 strips. This will be enough to attach to 5 pieces of cardstock making a total of 50 quick and easy Gift Tags.
