This is my desk where I play, create and blog. I have stored some market items under my desk and also my dogs love being with me and sit at my feet.
I’m lucky to have floor to ceiling wardrobe and I use 2/3 of it for storage and behind this mirrored panel is a little surprise.
This is my Blue Tooth Printer which due to lack of counter space I leave on the trolley and it gets used in other rooms of the house as well.

My stamp storage. I love that Stampin’ Up! use DVD cases for their stamps storage. The images on the spine it makes searching for the stamp set your after much easier. As you can see I have a few but there’s room for more hehe.
This is my home made light box. My DH installed a white roller blind and with these clip on halogen lights it makes a perfect backdrop for photographing my projects.
This is my Brother Scan N Cut station. This is great for fussy cutting stamped images. I also use it for cutting Vinyl, Felt, Fabric, Plastic, Paper and foam. The draws hold the tools and supplies I require for the Scan N Cut. But there is another little secret, look at next photo.
This is my Big Shot and Embossing Buddy area. I also keep my Scoring Tool, Envelope Punch Board and Box Making Punch Board here using a file folder holder.
This shelf holds all my Big Shot and Texture Boutique accessories, along with my ribbons and bits and pieces in the jars. In front is my Paper Trolley which holds on the top shelf my DSP and other kinds of papers in the 12×12 Cop Hopper Folders. On the bottom there are more Crop Hopper folders that hold my Card Stock in Colour families.
Yes, my studio/craft room is my sanctuary, my temple, my holy place. My craft has saved me, given me reason in my life and has healed my soul.
I’m sorry if this appears melodramatic but truly it’s true. I won’t disclose the difficulties I endured in my first marriage but it
has left me scared on the inside. With the dissolution of my marriage it cost me time with my children. 6 years ago a rekindled friendship with an old high school sweetheart gave me new life, new energy and a new outlook…I had finally met my soul mate. I moved to beautiful King Island, Tasmania. My business was getting off the ground, I became an Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and was teaching regular classes in my home to enthusiastic paper crafters.
Two years ago my life was literally swept out from under my feet and the news that my 18 year old son Jesse was taken from us in a horrific car accident. I lost my demonstratorship due to lack of sales and my passion for creating died along with Jesse.
With the help from my family, friends and doctors I have been able to get life relatively back to normal and I rejoined Stampin’ Up! with a new up line Sue Maddex, who is wonderful and I’m part of a great team Think Ink.
This is why my Studio is my sanctuary…I leave my worries at the door, it feeds my soul and reenergize me.
I’d like to share with you pictures of my studio. This is a room in my home overlooking my front garden and the street. I love the natural light that comes through my big window and I can see birds that fly into the flowering bushes from my desk.
The table in the middle is great for when I have a crafty friend drop around and there is room for both of us. I have been looking for some low backless stools that can fit under it when not being used. I also use it to lay out projects to dry or projects I’m working on and don’t want to get spoilt by accidentally getting ink on.

June, thanks for sharing your story and your sanctuary. I don’t know if you have an Ikea nearby, but Ikea has some great backless stools at an inexpensive price. I use them in my classroom – many teachers do. They are great for tucking under the table and getting them out of the way and the stool legs don’t tangle the way the student chair legs do. The ones I have stack, too. And if my monitor is reading your table cloth color correctly, my stools are the color of your tablecloth! 🙂 I love how you made your photography space with the rollerblind – clever!

It’s been a while since you posted this but just stumbled across it. I love your enthusiasm in spite of adversity and your go get attitude. I envy your space and your island, but that’s OK I have a cupboard but in the end it’s the joy, space, internal happiness and all that lovely soul stuff that you speak of that means the most.
