Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring the Holiday Catalogue. We hope our blog hop inspires you to get creative and make some fabulous Christmas creations. I’ve come up with a traditional style card but using non traditional colours for the festive season. The Brusho Crystal Colours are so easy to use and make some amazing backgrounds but today I wanted the image to be the hero and I feel the colour just jumps off the page. I used the Prussian Blue which I thought coordinated well with Pacific Point. I tend to lean to golds but could not go past matching silver with this striking blue and white combination. I just love the detail of the Bauble stamp.
Here are the full instructions and measurements.
CARD STOCK
Whisper White
27×13.5cm x1
12x12cm x1
12.5×12.5cm x1 (card insert)
scrap piece for sentiment
Pacific Point
12.5×12.5cm x1
13x13cm x 1 (card insert mat)
scrap piece for sentiment mat
Silver Foil Sheet
13x13cm x1
On the 12x12cm Whisper White randomly stamp the Bauble image with Versamark but be sure to use Embossing Buddy first to remove all static from card stock. Once stamped then cover images with Silver embossing powder and heat set with Heat Tool. Along with Sentiment on scrap piece and also sentiment on insert piece.

Add bows and string stamp images, mask as required.
Die cut front sentiment by using larger label die from Lakeside Framlits set. Cut out Pacific Point Layer as well. Trim off the banner edges off the sentiment piece so when layered the Pacific Point layers show.
With your aqua painter squeeze a puddle of water onto a plastic surface, I used a clear stamping block. Then sprinkle the Prussian Blue Brusho Crystal Colour into the water. Starting with small amount and mix with aqua painter until desired colour is achieved. More water can always be added if colour becomes too dark.
Start applying colour by starting along bottom edge spreading to the centre. I find this gives the illusion of light and shade. As the water pools you can lightly dab with a dry clean cloth. This also pulls some of the colour off so helps also to achieve the watercolour effect.
Do a light wash behind the sentiment on the card insert. Set both aside and let dry. You can speed things up a bit by using a heat tool but I find this warps the paper.
Start layering you card mats as per picture. As the Whisper White piece may have warped with the water colouring use adhesive of your choice and cover liberally on all layers.

I used Multi Purpose Liquid Glue as I wanted to be able to move my layers in case I may have not lined them up correctly at first. Add sentiment adhering with Stampin’ Dimensionals and embellish with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Mat card insert and adhere to inside of card.
Gentlely give the baubles a wipe with clean dry cloth to remove any ink that may have settled on silver embossing. I highlighted small segments of the bauble with Wink Of Stella to give some more twinkle to the card.
I hope this inspires you to make your own Christmas cards. Please contact me if you are interested in receiving your own copy of the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue by going to my Contact Me page.
